Dia and co reviews 201810/31/2023 I could not be anymore more disappointed and angrier with the quality of this truck. Instead, I get a new truck that hasn't even lasted as long as the used trucks I've bought. The whole reason I invested in a new truck was so that I would have something that would be dependable for many years. The cost to fix it is $4,700!!!!! FOUR THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED. They call me today saying it has multiple cam timing issues. Next have it towed to the Ford dealership. So I have it towed to a local mechanic thinking it was maybe coil packs. At this point Ive had the truck 3.5yrs, 86,000 miles. The engine was also making a plastic raspy noise whenever I let off the accelerator. I switched to 3,000 mile oil and oil changes then. At 7,500 miles the truck was 2.5 Qts low on oil. I thought it was a fluke and got 10,000 mile oil as I am very busy and it saves time. By the time I had an oil change it was right at a quart low. ![]() But my first warning sign was the engine was losing oil almost immediately- I set my oil changes for 5,000 miles. I bought my truck new on Dec 30th of 2018. Postives: Comfortable, great for long trips, plenty of room, quiet, 3.5 Ecoboost is strong with torque (except for cam phaser problem), used for periodic light towing an open car hauler. ![]() Transmission, driveline woes.inconsistent banging and engaging problems but when taken to Ford, the problem wouldn't occur so no resolve to date perhaps never will until the entire driveline fails. Michelin tires being replaced at 69k miles and all lug nuts required replacement since they expanded and a standard lug wrench would not fit the lugs for removal (don't take my word for it.just research Ford lug nuts online).Ĥ. Research Ford paint problems with aluminum parts.ģ. Paint peeling from the roof Ford denied warranty as it did not meet their definition of corrosion. At 60k miles, cam phasers needed to be replaced a week in the shop (suggest searching cam phasers for Ford).Ģ. Usually do not buy extended warranty but this time I did and it was a smart move.ġ. Currently at 70,000 miles of mixed use around town, periodic extened travel, and once or twice a year using the truck with an open car hauler for classic car shows.
